The Monterey Bay Charter School is launching its Fifth Annual Plant-A-Thon fundraiser in partnership with California State University Monterey Bay’s (CSUMB) Return of the Natives Restoration Education Project. On March 5th, Kindergarten through 8th grade students, parents, and faculty will work together with the Bureau of Land Management and Return of the Natives to restore thousands of native drought-resistant plants at Sandstone Ridge on the BLM Fort Ord Public Lands. Funds raised through this project will benefit the facilities and educational programming at the Monterey Bay Charter School and 5 percent of net proceeds will benefit Return of the Natives. The school and Return of the Natives are asking the business and local communities to support the project with tax-deductible donations.
