Submit your original poetry, in English, Spanish or both before March 20 to the 2013 Monterey County High School Poetry awards.
Winning students can earn cash, certificates of merit and poetry books.
Submissions must be original, authors must be enrolled in high school in Monterey County.
Up to three poems per author of no more than 40 lines each.
No restrictions on content, style, form or metric.
All entries must be typed. Student's name, address and phone number must be included on each poem.
Poets should keep a copy of their poems.
Entries must be postmarked by March 20, 2013, and sent to Cherry Center for the Arts, P.O. Box 863, Carmel, CA 93921.
The awards ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Monterey Public Library, 625 Pacific St., Monterey.
