It's not too late to catch 'Girl Rising' tonight

Women for Women International, a student club at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (BCM), will host the world premiere of the feature film "Girl Rising" — the centerpiece of the “10 x10” global campaign to educate and empower girls — at 7 p.m. March 7 in the Irvine Auditorium, 499 Pierce St.

Directed by Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins, Girl Rising tells the stories of nine extraordinary girls from nine countries. It was written by nine celebrated writers and narrated by nine renowned actresses. Girl Rising showcases the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world. The Women for Women International Club is hosting the screening to support efforts surrounding International Women’s Day (Feb. 25) to bring global attention to the enormous benefits of educating girls. The screening is free and open to the public.
